How does the button work? What does it do?

A complete talk-through of the Little Green Button in action

The Little Green Button lives on your computer screen, floating over your other programs. The button can be moved and re-sized to suit your display preferences.

To request assistance, simply double click on the Little Green Button (this request can be cancelled by a second double click).

With Little Green Button you can summon assistance quickly and discreetly. There is no audible alarm on the PC which activated the alert.

Once the alarm is activated, all computers on the network (with the Little Green Button running) display an alert. This message tells everybody the location of the problem. When someone clicks 'respond' the alarm message changes to include the location of the responding user.

Usually the first responder is the person next door, they are often the most relevant to deal with the situation.

The Little Green Button software has many advantages over traditional hard-wired panic alarm systems:

  • It is far cheaper - utilizing your computers and network

  • Easy and quick to install: the software is downloaded from our website

  • Little Green Button is unique in its subtlety. The alarm can be raised without an assailant realising it.

  • An alert is instantly available on all computers generating a very rapid initial response.

  • A rapid response prevents the escalation of the incident.

  • Changing room layout or use is simple, just move the PC. (it moves with your computers)

  • Where a mouse click is inappropriate, physical push buttons and panic strips are available to compliment our software.
  •

    External plug-in buttons and strips

    Connected to your computer

We also provide more traditional external panic switches which compliment our Little Green Button software. These can be in a room without a computer or just an alternative position in the room. It can also be helpful to those users who move away from their PC. The panic switch is connected to the PC on a length of cable. As standard the switch comes with 2m of cable although we can make up longer lengths if required. It is also possible to have more than one switch or strip connected to one computer, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

A Little Green Button switch costs just £10.00.

Perhaps you would prefer a strip that can be stuck to the wall? Again, the strips work alongside the software: hit anywhere on the strip to activate the Little Green Button alert and request assistance. In a medical emergency (with your hands full already) simply thump or knock the strip. Our panic strips are custom made to the length required.

The strips vary in price depending on the length required - below is a guide - but please contact us for an accurate quote:

    £45.00

    1 metre £75.00

Panic groups - controlling who gets alerts

For separate floors or large buildings

You can set up the Little Green Button in groups (currently up to 5), this would mean that if a Little Green Button was triggered in Group 1 for example, then the alerts would only be sent to the other computers running the Little Green Button in Group 1. This is particularly useful to those sites with several floors or those with remote sites, it might only be possible for those within the remote site to respond to a panic alert.

However, you can choose to monitor all panic alerts, for example a Manager may want to know that a Little Green Button has been triggered even if not able to respond to it.
